I have lived in or around Winchester almost continually since 1989. I love the town and the valley and am extremely proud to be a small part of the economic make-up of our community. While I do not have the wine knowledge of Heidi, I make up for it in enthusiasm – for both wine and beer. On the weekends, you can usually catch me here at the shop or at another of our wonderful restaurants and breweries we have in Old Town Winchester.

I have been curious about wine since, as a child, my wine enthusiast Father encouraged me to
smell and taste the wines he and my Mother were exploring. After studying architecture and
furniture making I have had a winding career path. I have been, among other things, a bread
baker, a picture frame maker and I even briefly sold Mont Blanc pens to junior executives in a
gift shop on Madison Avenue! After living in New York City and Boston for ten years my
husband and I settled in Winchester in 1994 to start a family. Old Town Winchester veterans
may remember me behind the counter of The Satisfied Mind Bookstore and Coffeehouse. Now,
as I anticipate retiring from a 25 year career with USPS, I am really enjoying my new chapter
with Murphy where I can indulge and broaden my love of wines, and share with customers.

Do I love cheese or wine more? Both! Best pairing ever, unctuous, washed rind Grayson with
Fabbioli Cellars Chambourcin…. my mouth is watering.

Many things brought me here, to this very different place than the world I inhabited in corporate America, but after spending a lot of my free time reading about wine and trying different wines, I knew I wanted to spend some of my career in the wine world. And now I’m pleased as (spiked) punch to be inhabiting that world at Murphy’s. When I’m not at the shop, I’m helping Chad wrangle our kids, trying to squeeze in a run, or popping into the other businesses downtown. I love talking with folks at the shop, so stop on in.
